24th Annual NJ Catholic Youth Rally

All middle and high school students, scouts, young adults, parish/school athletes, and their families are invited to attend the 24th Annual NJ Youth Rally at Great Adventure. A Matt Maher Concert, Mass, and a day at Great Adventure with Catholics from all over New Jersey is the perfect way to spend your day on Sunday, May 19. The cost is $50 per person for access into the park, buffet lunch, access to a Matt Maher concert, and a free bounce back ticket! If you are a season pass holder, it is only $20 per person.

Solemn Fatima Candlelight Procession

Our Lady of Fatima parish will honor their patroness in prayer, song and devotion with their 18th annual Solemn Fatima Candlelight Procession. The lay faithful are invited along with priests, deacons and religious to process throughout the church neighborhood with international flags, religious banners and the statue of Our Lady of Fatima from Portugal. The Most Holy Rosary will be recited during the procession as well as in the church for those unable to walk the procession route. Following the procession there will be a short program in the church including a homily given by the guest presider, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer intentions, and Benediction. A reception will follow in the parish auditorium. Please join us.

Memorial Day Mass at Resurrection Cemetery

Rev. Msgr. Joseph G. Celano, Episcopal Vicar of Administration, will preside at an outdoor Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. May 27, rain or shine, on the grounds of Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Lane and Park Ave., Piscataway.

As part of a national Catholic cemeteries’ celebration entitled, “Serving God and Country: A Memorial Day Salute to Our Heroes,” the program was developed to honor those men and women who died while serving in the armed forces, as well as recognize both our active military and military veterans who have served our country. This year, there will be a wreath laying ceremony with honor guard participation and the playing of TAPS at the end of the Mass.

Memorial Day - St. John Neumann Pastoral Center Closed

The Director of Parish Social Ministry at Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen serves as liaison between Catholic Charities and all parishes and strives to build and maintain collaborative and networking relationships with the parishes. Working together allows us to serve more individuals and families with dignity and respect in their time of need. The Office of Parish Social Ministry manages the Diocesan Emergency Assistance Program which provides financial assistance and service linkages to individuals through parish referrals. This program prioritizes responding to those in need in a manner that reflects Catholic Social Teaching and supports the parishes in their social outreach ministries.

The Diocese of Metuchen's Office for Persons with Disabilities will offer a Catholic Prayer and Support Group for Families Affected by Mental Health Issues on June 5 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, 327 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ 07823. The group will meet the first Wednesday of each month and will offer spiritual support and tips on how to cope with this health issue.
