Singing in Solidarity with the Poor and Service Recognition for Pastoral Musicians

In unity with our Holy Father, Pope Francis, on the second World Day of the Poor, all are invited to attend Singing in Solidarity with the Poor and Service Recognition for Pastoral Musicians on Sunday, November 18 at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of Saint Francis of Assisi, Metuchen.  

After sung prayer, pastoral musicians celebrating significant anniversaries of music ministry will be recognized for their service. A monetary offering will be accepted to assist with the personal needs of the poor, as administered by the St. Francis Cathedral Social Concerns.

This event will be hosted by the Diocese of Metuchen's Office of Worship and the Metuchen Chapter of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.

Prayer Service for the Share the Journey Global Migration Campaign

All are invited to attend a Prayer Service for the "Share the Journey" Global Migration Campaign on Wednesday, January 9 at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 34 Yorktown Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The prayer service will be held during National Migration Week 2019, January 6-12, during which members of our local Church will gather with our migrant brothers and sisters in prayer and solidarity. Ecumenical Prayer Service for Christian Unity

All are invited to join Bishop Checchio at the Ecumenical Prayer Service to Celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Bishop Checchio will be joined by representatives of the Episcopal, Lutheran and Orthodox communities in New Jersey. This year's theme for the Week of Prayer is "Justice, Only Justice, You shall Pursue" (cf. Deuteronomy 16:20), which was chosen for its powerful message of promoting truth, equality and unity which are recognized as common needs throughout the world. All are welcome to attend!

The Diocese of Metuchen's Office of Human Life and Dignity and the Catholic Community of St. Anthony of Padua will host a Prayer Service for those touched by the pain of addiction or loss at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 436 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading, NJ 07064.

Any person or family whose life has been touched by the pain of addiction or loss, or who seeks the grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the struggle to recovery is welcome. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
