Memorial Day Mass at Resurrection Cemetery

Rev. Msgr. William Benwell, diocesan vicar general, will celebrate a Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. May 29 on the grounds of Resurrection Cemertery, Hoes Lane and Park Avenue, Piscataway. All are welcome!

Very Rev. Thomas J. Walsh, pastor, St. Bartholomew Parish, East Brunswick, will celebrate a Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. May 29 on the grounds of Holy Cross Cemetery, 800 Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg. All are welcome!

Mass for Home School Students and their Families

10 a.m.

Home school students and their families are invited to attend a 10 a.m. Mass June 7 at St. Magdalen de Pazzi Parish, 105 Mine Street, Flemington. The Most Reverend James F. Checchio, Bishop of Metuchen, will be the celebrant. Light refreshments will follow. Registration is requested by May 31, 2017.

2017 Hispanic Pilgrimage

9:30am – 3:30pm

The Diocese of Metuchen's Office of Hispanic Ministry will lead a grand pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, on Saturday, June 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. While the events of the day will be held in Spanish, all devotees of Mary are invited to attend.

Cultural Mass

The Indian and Sri Lankan Apostolate and the Indian Communities of Goan, Gujarati, Mangalorean and Tamils, invite all to a Cultural Mass, program and dinner. The celebrant will be the Most Reverend George Antonysamy, Ph.D., Archbishop of Madras and Mylapore Archdiocese. This is an opportune moment for Catholics from the South East Asian subcontinent to come together as one community.

2017 World Mission Sunday Mass Celebration

Bishop James F. Checchio invites all to the Diocese of Metuchen's 2017 World Mission Sunday (WMS) Mass Celebration. It’s a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit ourselves to the Church’s missionary activity and an opportunity to show solidarity with our sisters and brothers in Christ. On WMS, prayers are offered and donations collected for the Mission Church. These gifts are given to support churches and mission stations, orphanages, hospitals, clinics, schools, as well as seminarians, Sister/Brother Novices in mission countries. Evening Prayer for World Day of the Poor

All of the faithful are invited to join Bishop Checchio at Evening Prayer for the first World Day of the Poor on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 5 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen.

This will be an occasion for our community to reflect on how poverty is at the heart of the Gospel and an opportunity for those who work to aid, care for and comfort those in greatest need to be affirmed, inspired and sent forth with a renewed commitment to building a “culture of encounter” and bringing people together across differences with tenderness and solidarity. Annual Diocesan Respect Life Mass and Pro-Vita Awards

12:00 pm

All are welcome to attend the Annual Diocesan Respect Life Mass on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Noon at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi in Metuchen. Bishop Checchio will present the 2018 Pro-Vita awards at this time. This year’s recipients are Kevin and Mary Dugan of Immaculate Conception in Somerville, who are being recognized for their dedication to promoting the sanctity of human life in the parish and beyond, and Arlene Lippincott of St. Philip & St. James in Phillipsburg, for her service to women facing unplanned pregnancies at Life Choices, Inc. in Phillipsburg. 

Please plan to attend as a show of support for these pro-life champions! Immediately following the Mass, there will be a small reception in the Community Room downstairs.
