Sing to the Lord: Music in Worship

8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
04/08/2017

No Registration Fee – registration required

This seminar, presented by Tony Varas, Director, Office of Worship, introduces the participant to the basic principles and norms applied to the music of the liturgy as articulated in Sing to the Lord: Music in Divine Worship, and those portions of the Constitution on Sacred Liturgy and the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (2002) that address music in the liturgy. Participants will explore the key music documents of the Church, the concept of “progressive solemnity”, the “three-fold judgment” as part of one evaluation when selecting music for the liturgy, and musical forms appropriate to liturgical celebrations.

Pre-registration required. Visit: http://diometuchen.org/offices-and-ministries/formation-and-leadership/worship/resources/. Light refreshments will be served. No fee for this program. Any questions, contact Mary Ann Giannone at mgiannone@diometuchen.org.
